Benjamin Choi

Ben Choi is a Court Attorney to the Honorable Rina Gurung, Judge of the New York City Housing Court.

Prior to this position, Ben was a Staff Attorney at The Legal Aid Society’s Housing Unit, where he represented tenants in eviction and HP proceedings, and assisted clients with applications for rental arrears assistance and subsidies. Previously he was employed by the New York Civil Liberties Union’s Legal Department as a Legal Fellow, where he supported the NYCLU’s racial justice, immigrants’ rights, and police accountability practices.

Ben obtained his J.D. from the New York University School of Law, where he was an Editor for the Journal of Legislation and Public Policy’s Quorum, and a Pro Bono Scholar working with Make the Road New York’s Immigration Team. He received his B.A. from the University of California, Irvine.
